About The Rider

My Chronicle of the Horse Blogs

My name is Lindsey. I have 28 years experience in the horse industry. I grew up riding show hunters, equitation, and some jumpers, ranging from local hunter circuits to USEF "AA" competitions. After college, I rode and trained professionally for three years in Middleburg, Virginia. During that time, I became a regular fox hunter with the Piedmont Fox Hounds and other area hunts, and competed in USEA recognized events as well. Many years later and now an amateur once more, I still enjoy the rewarding (and challenging!) journey of training green horses, and am currently bringing along my young horse, Sibelius MB, along as a jumper and hunter derby prospect.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have trained with some of the top names in sport, across several disciplines.  In recent years I rode regularly with United States Show Jumping Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold Medalist, Joe Fargis; USDF Hall of Famer Linda Zang; five-time Olympian and two-time Silver Medalist Anne Kursinski; US Olympian/Rolex Kentucky and Burghley champion, Stephen Bradley; and rode in a clinic with George H. Morris.

Triple Thirteen (1987-2007)
I fell in love with Thoroughbreds back in 1997, when my parents purchased my first horse for me. My big grey mare, Triple, taught me that the heart of a Thoroughbred cannot be beaten. I owned her for 10 years, during which we won many state championships ranging from the Equitation divisions to the Junior Hunters.  I learned so much from her.  I had to put her down in 2007 due to colic, something she struggled with throughout her life.  She was truly a horse of a lifetime, one I am still thankful for today.  She was a friend, a teacher, a partner, and a competitor.
